The following topics were dealt with: research worldwide; advanced medical robotics; robotic systems, namely MASTER, and DEX for materials handling; wheelchairs for very young children; robot hand grasp planning; educational and vocational robots; broadband communications equipment; communication aids for the speech-impaired and the language-impaired; an electronic mail system for speech-impaired children; integrated control of aids; a robotic arm and workstation; and intelligent wheelchairs.
