This paper presents a comparison of metaheuristic techniques to locate and sizing distributed generation in distribution feeder. The objective function minimizes active power losses in a radial distribution system including distributed generation. Tabu Search, Scatter Search and Ant Colony were the techniques used to compare results in minimization losses and improvement of voltage profiles in critical nodes when distributed generation was included in distribution feeder. The analysis compares the performance of techniques in term of accuracy and execution times.
