Put introduction text here. Please use the number-in-bracket [1] reference format throughout the paper. High temp greases take many forms and formulations can vary widely. Some high temperature greases rely on the oxidative and thermal stability of the base fluid while some rely on the high temperature stability of solid additives that are dispersed in the grease to provide protection after the base oil and thickener has been degraded. For simplicity current high temperature greases can be broken down into two major categories one being greases that operate continuously under 177°C and greases that need to operate above 177°C continuously.
