1. Obtaining fast and accurate anthropometry from three-dimensional (3D) body surface scans is a primary application of scan technology.2. Approaches may be divided into two main methods.1. Scan Extraction1. Mesh is interrogated to reproduce the manual measurement procedure of standard anthropometry.2. Automated software utilize scan geometry such as curvature to locate landmarks and levels.2. Scan Prediction1. Template-matched standardized 3D meshes are related to standard anthropometry through principal components regression (PCAR).3. We describe PCAR (Reed and Park, 2017) through the analysis of a sample of female torso forms.
