The paper demonstrates the Single notch band UWB BPF avoiding interference from satellite communication. The filter consists of stub loaded rectangular ring resonator between interdigital structure to improve the selectivity of the passband and upper stopband. A rectangular slot as defected microstrip structure loaded with line stub is used for further improvement in passband performance at both the ports. To minimize the ripples in passband the interdigital structure is loaded to additional step impedance stub. The filter is small in size and less complex since via or defected ground structure is not used. The proposed filter has insertion loss less than 0.8 dB and return loss more than 24.5 dB in passband between 3.1 GHz to 10.7 GHz, The notch band in the passband has attenuation of -22.5 dB centered at 8 GHz for satellite communication. The proposed filter is designed and simulated in Agilent ADS.
