Human Factors Engineering Program Implementation Recommended Practices for Nuclear Power Plant Licensing Applicants

摘要

The objective of this paper is to provide a compendium of recommended practices for the implementation of a Human Factors Engineering (HFE) program and the compliance with licensing requirements. The information provided in this paper is based on Tecnatom's experience and the lessons learned from developing and implementing a comprehensive HFE program in several international Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) projects. This research will provide licensing applicants with a valuable aid for the complex effort of having the Human System Interface (HSI) of a new NPP design licensed. This evaluation is carried out with the help of selected Tecnatom HFE subject matter experts (SMEs). The selected SMEs provide their expertise on HFE program development and integration in projects for new designs, and also, the modernization of plants already in operation.
