The ideal boundary of perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) is extensively employed in a number of boundary value problems to model and simplify them. It is a generalized concept since it contains all the intermediate cases between the perfect magnetic conductor (PMC) and the perfect electric conductor (PEC). For these reasons, the realization of such a fictitious boundary through conventional materials has attracted considerable attention during the recent years. In this work, we find the suitable materials that could optimally mimic the PEMC scattering effect in the case of an electrically thin cylinder. Such a result could be used as a module in treating sizeable PEMC structures of arbitrary shape.
