Bio-efficacy of Sempra 75 WG (Halosulfuron methyl) @ 90 g/ha was evaluated after 30 and 60 days of treatments individually and also as tank mix with Metrihuzine 70 WP @ 625g or 750g/Atrazine 50 WP @ 1250 g or 1875 g or 2500 g per hectare against the weeds in spring planting season of 2013-14 with sugarcane variety Co. 0238 at Research Farm of Daurala Sugar Works, Modipuram, Meerut (U.P.). Sempra 75 WG alone and as tank mix with Metrihuzine (with all doses) and Atrazine (with all doses) recorded significantly less Motha (Cyperus rotundus) population (00 to 02 per 0.5 m~2 area) in comparison to Metrihuzine and Atrazine alone (48 to 62/0.5 m~2 area) after 63 days of treatment. Sempra 75 WG @ 90 g/ha as tank mix with Metrihuzine 70 WP (all doses) and with Atrazine 50 WP (all doses) also recorded significantly less population of narrow leaf and broad leaf weeds. Significantly higher shoot height was recorded in Sempra 75 WG @ 90 g/ha + Metribuzin 70 WP @ 750 g/ha at 63 days after treatment which was at par to Sempra 75 WP alone or in combination with Metribuzine 70 WP and Atrazine 50 WP in all doses under treatments. Number of shoots at 63 days after treatment was comparatively higher in Sempra 75 WG alone or in combination of Metribuzine 70 WP/Atrazine 50 WP than that of Metribuzine 70 WP/Atrazine 50 WP alone treated plots. The results indicated that for control of Cyperus rotundus, narrow and broad leaf weeds Sempra 75 WG @ 90 g + Metribuzin 70 WP @ 750 g or Sempra 75 WG @ 90 g + Atrazine 50 WP @ 2250 g/ha can be used in Sugarcane as post emergence tank mix herbicides.
