Renewable energy plays a growing role in national and international energy systems and also contributes in making these systems more resilient. Advanced grid management capabilities and energy storage technologies will maximize the benefit of renewable energy and make our system more resistant to both natural occurrences and cyber or physical attack. This panel will provide an overview of these issues from the perspective of state and federal governmental offices, academia and private industry, discussing the role of renewable energy in creating a more secure grid and the emerging technologies that will help us achieve that goal.
