REMOTE MONITORING OF A SOLAR INSTALLATION FOR HOT WATER PRODUCTION

The production of hot water using solar energy systems allows a better use of the conventional energy resources and contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The purpose of our work is to study the energy performances of a solar installation of hot water production through the use of advanced techniques allowing command and remote control and to assure a smooth running of the installation at any time and thus to guarantee solar retrofits. A follow up of the installation through different parameter measurement is made. This installation is situated in the Algiers area and is equipped with the necessary instruments (temperature detectors, impulse Meters, electrical meters, etc). Detectors record data which are transmitted to a surveillance and supervision center. Appropriate commands are transmitted back to the pumps, the supplement electric heaters, the valves in order to adjust the optimum operating parameters. These latest information are obtained through the analysis of the data gotten previously. However adequate sizing of the installation is necessary in order to assure an optimal productivity and this is done through the use of the SOLO software developed by CSTB France. It is a tool used to predict energy performances of solar installations for hot water production. This is based on dynamic simulation. Our paper will present the equipped installation, the analysis and the interpretation of the collected data. Comparison is made with respect to a software simulation.
