This paper suggests an adaptive filtering scheme based on least mean square (LMS) algorithm to eliminate selective line current harmonics in the front end rectifier of three-phase inverter. Harmonic elimination in this innovative approach is achieved by adding weighted sine and cosine components of respective selected frequencies to match their amplitudes and phase angles present in the line current and then subtracting this sum from the line current. The proposed harmonic elimination scheme works evenly well for de link both constant and fluctuating due to poor capacitor. The algorithm eliminates the desired low-order harmonics of the input current, in particular the fifth, seventh and eleventh harmonics. In consequence, the proposed methodology also reduces the input current total harmonic distortion (THD). The triumph of the algorithm is validated hy MATLAB/SIMULINK toolhox.
