摘要

In China, most of the pasture land is located in remote areas with diffi culty to access power supply. These areas are generally blessed with plentiful solar energy. Therefore, solar photovoltaic driven water pumping system offers a technical solution to develop irrigated pasture land.This paper summarized the technical aspects of the system and assessment of the economic, ecological, and social benefi ts of the project.The pilot shows that the whole system can be operated well. With photovoltaic pumping system micro sprinkler irrigation line is proved to be an effective water-saving irrigation technology in pastures. Utilization of this system not only conserve pasture land and maintain ecological system, but also supply drinking water for both human and livestock in those remote areas. Thus solar photovoltaic water pumping irrigation system will have good potential to be applied in pasture areas in northwest and north China.
