Saemangeum intertidal area, located in the south-western part of Korean Peninsula is under reclamation recently for the purpose of providing suffi cient land and water for agriculture. While planting vegetations stabilize reclaimed lands, due attention is needed in selecting suitable plant species because of its unique environment such as high salinity and fast wind. In this study nurseries were grown of potential salinity-tolerant trees and saplings were planted in two different test fi elds. Based on the monitoring of growth rates of the saplings, the main fi ndings were: Suitable species: Twelve out of 36 planted species survived and grown well in KunsanOkgu site until now.
