HERA: Hardware-Embedded Reactive Agents Platform

Wireless Sensor Networks is a key technology for gathering out-standing information from different sources. However, it is not easy to integrate devices from different technologies into a single network. Distributed architec-tures, such as Multi-Agent Systems, can facilitate the integration of heterogeneous sensor networks. In addition, Multi-Agent Systems expand the sensors' capabili-ties changing their behavior dynamically and personalizing their reactions. This paper presents the novel Hardware-Embedded Reactive Agents (HERA) platform. HERA allows developing applications where agents are directly embedded in het-erogeneous wireless sensor nodes with reduced computational resources.
