A CO_2 capture process for the coal-fired power plant with gas/steam combined cycle using calcium looping cycle was proposed. The CO_2 capture efficiency and system net efficiency of the new CO_2 capture process for the coal-fired power plant with gas/steam combined cycle using the natural and the modified limestone were simulated and investigated with the software package ASPEN PLUS. The circulation ratios for sorbents have significant effect on CO_2 capture efficiency and net efficiency of the CO_2 capture system. The CO_2 capture system using the modified limestone exhibits higher CO_2 capture efficiency than that using the natural limetone at the same circulation ratios. The net efficiency of the CO_2 capture process using the natural and modified limestone achieves 41.7 % and 43.1% , respectively, at the CO_2 capture efficiency of 90 % without effect of sulfation.
