摘要

The paper presents the results of carbon dioxide separation applying pressure swing adsorption process as the one of post-combustion CO_2 capture method. Sorbents synthesized from fly ashes coming from Polish power plants and the commercial equivalent to the sorbents were used in this method. The separation is carried out in the two-bed pressure swing adsorption (PSA) laboratory installation, whose beds were filled with granulated sorbents being under research. A variety of parameters which affect separation process such as pressure, adsorption time and configuration (pressure equalization, cocurrent and countercurrent depressurization) were taken into account. The feed gas was a simulated mixture of flue gas coming from oxygen-enriched combustion containing CO_2, O_2 and N_2. The adsorption process was carried out under low feed gas pressure to minimize energy demand for gas pressurization. The effectiveness of the process for applied sorbents was determined by average concentration of CO_2 in low-pressure product and recovery of CO_2 from feed gas.
