According to the characteristics of combined machining and practical needs, grinding force ratio and short circuit ratio are chosen as collecting inputs. In the combined machining process, two inputs, which have similar trend, can be supplementary and consulted mutually. The multisensor system can collect grinding force and short circuit ratio. Ultrasonic vibration power, feed rate and open and close of EDM power are controlled in hierarchical control strategy by analyzing the collecting data. The change and change rate of grinding force ratio are chosen as inputs of fuzzy controller. Workpiece material feed rate is chosen as output of fuzzy controller. The intelligent control of combined machining is simulated dynamically by Matlab/Simulink.
