Clinical research of the atrial fibrillation complicated with the esophagectomy

Objective To identify the risk factors of AF after esophagectomy and prognosis. Methods: We analyzed the association between atrial fibrillation(AF) and risk factors by using chi~2 test and odds ratio analysis, such as age, ECG abnormality,hypertension,op eration method, anastomosis position. Results: The risk factors were identified: age (P<0.001), abnormal ECG (P<0.005), hypertension (P<0.01). AF evidently increased the anastomotic leakage (P<0.001), but not increased death (P=0.018). Conclusion: AF after esophagectomy associated with age, abnormal ECG, hypertension, and add anastomotic leakage.
