Image sharpening toolkit (ISTK)

There has been significant research on specific image sharpening algorithms, but there has been less work incorporatingthem into a robust and validated tool. We present the Image Sharpening Toolkit (ISTK), a collection of four validatedalgorithms that provide error propagation and greater spectral or spatial fidelity, dependent on the user's needs. Thealgorithms exploit the physics of a sensor, including knowledge of its Tasseled Cap coefficients and Spectral ResponseFunction. In addition, the HSV color model is used to fuse two single-band images and produce a color image. Wedemonstrate the tool's performance on QuickBird and IKONOS imagery.
