Field experiments were conducted during the Suru planting seasons of 2007-08 and 2008-09 at Vasantdada Sugar Institute's farm. Four promising sugarcane genotypes with three popular varieties were evaluatedfor moisture stress tolerance under normal and moisture stress condition. The results revealed that genotype CoM 0265 and CoVSI 9805 had recorded less reduction in cane yield 13.48 and 12.66 respectively. Among the genotypes CoVSI 9805 has recorded minimum reduction in sugar yield (18.91%) and had maintained maximum relative water content (RWC) during stress (90.37%). Based on the results obtained these two genotypes were observed as a stress tolerant.
