摘要

Wastewater treatment plant processes are inherently dynamic, sensitive to time-varying conditions, and other environmental factors. Therefore, the performance of wastewater treatment facilities is particularly dependent on the experience of an operator who has to cope with changing conditions of processes in the plant. However, the operational staff is not always capable of taking an optimal decision in a problematic or breakdown situation because of very complex dependencies between various elements of plant processes. To support the operator of the plant in his/her job, an integrated control system for management and control is proposed. This system integrates various techniques (modelling, simulation, artificial intelligence, etc.) which increase plant performance by improving process control, failure detection, diagnosis, and giving advice when plant experiences problems. This paper explains the structure of the integrated system for management and control of the plant with the main focus on wastewater treatment plants. It describes main modules of the system and their functions.
