摘要

This research presents an artificial vision - based interface to support handicapped people with motor disability in the use of personal computers. The system facilitates the use of software applications to individuals that have null or limited mobility of their upper limbs. In order to accomplish the objectives, the system counts on a Web camera that allows recognizing the patterns of movement of the subject's face, which is located in front of the camera, by means of real time image processing. The application carries out an analysis of the images for the execution of the basic functions of the mouse. The investigation is based on the present knowledge of artificial vision, sub-field of the artificial intelligence which offers tools of analysis and 3D image processing in order to interpret the captured scenes. The application was developed in C++ to be used on Windows XP.
