摘要

This paper attempts to study students' difficulties when they are introduced to OOP with the teaching proposal of Roelling & Barnes, that is teaching OOP with the help of BlueJ and the lessons proposed in their book "Objects First with Java: A practical introduction using BlueJ". The extensive presentation of difficulties aims at assisting teachers in designing and implementing didactic situations for a more effective use of the BlueJ environment and the proposed lessons.
