The compressor is one of the key parts in a NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system,and it plays an important role to the system performance and running cost.A twin screw CO2 compressor used for low temperature refrigeration cycle was developed in this paper The lobe number of the male rotor is 5,and the female is 8.The rotor profile is calculated by adopting envelop method.The area of the discharge port is larger than that of the conventional twin screw refrigeration compressor. Calculation indicates that rotor deformation and bearing life span could meet the requirement of the application.It is shown that the twin screw CO2 compressor can be used for the NH3/CO2 cascade system.
