摘要

The present communication describes the genetic diversity of the bacterial isolates capable of degrading the recalcitrant carbon compounds of the distillery effluent and their phylogenetic relatedness by PCR fingerprinting (ARDRA of 16S and IGS and BOX-PCR). The ability of some selected isolates to degrade spentwash carbon compounds with other sugars and optimum conditions for COD reduction has also been standardized.
