Corrosion Under Insulation

Corrosion under insulation (CUI) is a major problem for petroleum and chemical process industries. Corrosion under insulation can result in sudden, hazardous leaks (safety concern) and plant shutdowns with high losses of production-volumes (economical concern). Several incidents have occurred in the past due to CUI. This can be avoided through a good cooperation between operations, inspection and maintenance departments.
