In many industrial applications, broadband UV radiometers (hereafter called UV meters) are widely used for measuring irradiance or radiant exposure (dosage) in a particular UV band such as UVA for process control or other purposes. While their low cost, ease of use make this type of UV meters popular, large discrepancies and inconsistent results are often observed when UV meters acquired from different manufacturers are used. These have caused problems to the users and raised concerns to the manufacturers as well as calibration labs.
