In the beginning of the 21st century, white light emitting diodes (LEDs) are replacing many types of conventional light sources but most of the LED fitted luminaires are too costly for many villagers who live in non-electrified areas of remote places of the underdeveloped and developing countries. They still use kerosene lamps for their domestic chores and wasting large amount of energy to get a little amount of light.
