摘要

We present an experimental study on the performance of plastic optical fibers for the transmission of concentrated sunlight. Using the cut back method, we determined the fiber attenuation coefficient and its dependence on core diameter size. Additionally, we determined the threshold for irreversible fiber damage and concluded that the damage threshold critically depends on the fiber characteristics.
