Determination of soil water content and electrical conductivity using a capacitance sensor with an operation at two frequencies

A small modification in the electronics of a capacitance sensor for water content determination in soils allows measurements of two frequencies. A computer program, based on a model for soil, sensor, and electronics, evaluates water content and soil conductivity from these data. This is an inexpensive method to determine both quantities similar to the TDR method.
