Retrieving Eco-environment Factors Concerning Oncomelania Snail Distribution Based on QuickBird Image

A quantitative regression model is established between Oncomelania snail distribution and environmental variables retrieved from QuickBird images combined with ground data based on 3S and general method of investigation of snail and schistosomiasis. The study of the relationship between snail and environment factors concerning snail distribution retrieved by high spatial resolution QuickBird image is feasible. The results have showed the advantages of Quickbird image in determining the types of surface, whose high spatial resolution can reduce the influence of mixed pixels in the analysis-^sBut the lack of shortwave infrared spectrum and heat infrared spectrum which are respectively sensitive to humidity and temperature results in that the information of humidity and temperature can not be retrieved only by QuickBird image. So we can consider that using high spatial resolution image fromSP0T5 (shortwave infrared spectrum), radar image which is sensitive to water (especially multi-polarized and muti-angular ENV1SAT image) and thermal infrared image to synthetically retrieve the eco-environment factors concerning snail distribution, and establish ecological model based on remote sensing information with the support of GIS, which will prove to be a wide application foreground.
