Assessment on Gas Prevention in Coal Mine with Fault Tree Analysis

In coal mine, there are many calamities, such as coal and gas outburst, which is a kind of complicated motive power phenomenon in course of mining, and difficult to forecast and control. Based on fault tree analysis and combined with the actual conditions of JiIU Lishan coal mine, we took coal and gas outburst as top event, considered 16 root events, and set up an integrated fault tree. Through analyzing, we got 80 minimal cut sets and 4 least path sets, calculated their own importance degree, found out the main incipient fault of coal and gas outburst, qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated these reasons which have impact on coal and gas outburst accident, and found out the countermeasures and ways of avoid the coal and gas outburst accident The fault tree analysis has intuited, flexible characteristics and easy to understand. It can offer a new scientific and feasible method for appraisal of the coal and gas outburst.
