A field experiment was conducted at the Crop Research Centre, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar during 2004-06 to study the manurial efficacy of pressmud and fly ash in sugarcane crop in combination with chemical fertilizer. Application of pressmud and or fly ash favorably affected the growth of sugarcane. The crop fertilized with 50% recommended dose of Chemical fertilizer along with pressmud, fly ash and PSB in 1/3 and 2/3 ratio or 2/3 and 1 /3 ratio exhibited significantly higher cane yield and juice quality than that of the recommended dose of NPK. The cane yield and sugar yield obtained under 75% of the recommended NPK + Fly ash @ 10 t ha~(-1) and pressmud cake @ 10t ha~(-1) + PSB was however, higher at par with that of above treatment indicating that application of 10 t ha~(-1) pressmud and 10 t ha~(-1) fly ash can substitute 25 % of inorganic fertilizer.
