Ceramic-in-rubber pulley lagging (CIR) continues to excel in applications where additional wear and higher coefficient of friction is required. Richwood Inc. will assemble application data for a number of applications where ceramic-in-rubber lagging has proven its value. The data will be furnished in spreadsheet form with comparisons of tonnage conveyed, belt wrap on the pulley, conveyor incline and other application features. Some will be original designs where the lagging product makes lower belt tension possible with its associated economies. Others will be retrofit applications where the product solves slippage problems caused by changes in loading or operating conditions. As in a previous study, applications will be anonymous and the theoretical coefficient of friction will be calculated.
