Design and Construction of Hangzhou Bay Bridge

The 36 km long Hangzhou Bay Bridge will be the world's longest sea crossing bridge. This project is located in a typhoon prone area. The multi-directional current, high waves, and geologic conditions will make the field operations very difficult. The design and construction of the project face a great challenge and a unique construction technique was utilized. The project is expected to be completed in 60 months with a total construction cost estimated at $1.4 billion
