摘要

This paper will demonstrate the tangible benefits derived from the practical application of a rigorous and systematic risk assessment methodology, the Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) study, that has been proven successful for nearly 50 years in the process industries, including upstream drilling and production design and operations. The HAZOP process brings together a multi-disciplinary and interdependent team of subject matters experts from operations, engineering and process safety, representing the operating company, the drilling contractor, and equipment/service suppliers, to enable a comprehensive review of the technological and management systems for a drilling unit’s design, operation and maintenance.
