INVESTIGATION OF FRICTION AND WEAR BEHAVIORS OF SOLID EXPANDABLE CASING WITH DIFFERENT LUBRICANTS

摘要

This paper investigated on the friction and wear behaviors of a typical N80 solid expandable casing(SET) material in the process of expanding containing copper-based lubricant, solid graphite lubricant and none by using M-200 abrasion testing machine. The wear resistances of pipe body with loads of 10N, 30N, 50N and 80N in 25min, 50min, 75min and 100min were tested respectively, the wear surface morphology was analyzed by S-4800 Scanning Electron Microscopy and the wear mechanism of two different lubricants was discussed at last. Based on the systematic analysis it can be concluded that the wear weight mass loss of expandable casing materials with copper-based lubricant, solid graphite lubricant and none all increased with the increase of road, and it also increased with the increase of test time at the same road, copper-based lubricant and solid graphite lubricant reduced the friction coefficient of solid expandable casing materials during the wear process, the wear mechanisms also changed from the abrasive wear into adhesive wear, copper-based lubricant have the best lubricating effect because of lower friction coefficient and greatly improve the wear performance of solid expandable pipe material.
