Metamodeling User Interfaces and Services for Composition Considerations

Software Composition techniques improve the reusability of systems built by composing software artifacts such as components or services. Composition is also a challenge for the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) community. Both communities try out metamodeling approaches in order to address composition at a high level and free themselves from technological diversity as advocated by the Model Driven paradigm. However, there is a need for the construction of composed User Interfaces (UI) to go with the composition of underlying services and vice versa. For this, we propose to exploit the relationships between services and their UI. In this paper, we present our metamodeling approach for composing UI according to the way services are composed and taking into account the interaction between services and UI.
