Towards Relational Inconsistent Databases with Functional Dependencies

This paper investigates the problem of repairing inconsistent databases in the presence of functional dependencies. Specifically, we present a repairing strategy where only tuple updates are allowed in order to restore consistency. The proposed approach allows us to obtain a unique repair which can be computed in polynomial time.
