Stolon development in pastures depends largely on the soil nutritive condition. Different fertilizers have different influences on stolon density, spatial distribution and tiller density. The aim of this study was to clarify the effects of N, P, K and NPK on stolon development and determine which kind of fertilizer is a limiting factor in stolon development and which will be beneficial for rangeland management. Centipedegrass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) originated from China as a warm-season perennial and is widely distributed in the world. It has a strong stoloniferous growth habit.
