Magnetic resonance sounding (MRS) for geophysical groundwater investigation

In this tutorial paper we present the state of the art research about the method of Magnetic Resonance Sounding (MRS). We present and discuss the most fundamental expression of the MRS response signal. Based on this expression we point out the current research focus on different aspects of methodology, data processing and analysis as well as inversion and interpretation. The need and effectiveness of such very sophisticated approaches of fundamental analysis of the MRS methodology is demonstrated with instructive examples.
