The Dabie-Sulu ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphic belt is one of the largest orogenic belts in the world that has been subducted to the mantle depth and subsequently exhumed to the surface in the Jurassic. Detailed fluid inclusion and oxygen isotope studies of the UHP metamorphic rocks (eclogites, garnet amphibolites, gneisses, schists and quartzite) from the Chinese continental scientific drilling project (CCSD) in the south of the Sulu terrane, the northeast segment of the belt were carried out in recent years (Shen et al, 2003, 2005, 2006; Zhang et al., 2005, 2006). At least five types of fluid inclusions have been identified in minerals of quartz, omphacite, garnet, (clino-)zoesite, allanite-epidote, kyanite, calcite, apatite, monazite, rutile and zircon by petrography, microthermometry and Raman analysis.
