Fluid evolution and large-scale gold metallogeny during Mesozoic tectonic transition in the Jiaodong Peninsula, Eastern China

The Jiaodong gold province in Jiaodong Peninsula, the most important gold producer in China, is located in the southeastern margin of the North China craton, and belongs to the Mesozoic circum-Pacific orogenic gold system (Goldfarb et al., 1998). The gold lodes are mainly hosted in Precambrian high-grade metamorphic basement rocks and Mesozoic granitoids. It is widely considered now that the formation of gold deposits is tightly related with Mesozoic tectonic-magmatic hydrothermal activities or collisional orogen (Wang et al., 1998; Qiu et al., 2002; Fan et al., 2003; Yang et al., 2003; Chen et al., 2005). Previous ore-forming fluid studies of gold deposits in the Peninsula were mostly published in Chinese and mainly focused on a single deposit (Xu et al., 1996; Lu et al., 1999; Shen et al., 2000; Fan et al., 2003, Hu et al., 2005), and it is weak for mineralizing model of regional ore-forming fluids. Our study builds on fluid inclusion data of the most important gold deposits in the Peninsula, discuss ore-forming fluid evolution and gold lode genesis during Mesozoic tectonic transition in the Jiaodong Peninsula.
