DuraMatrix, A Novel Collagen Dura Substitute: Comparison with DuraGen and Dura-Guard

DuraMatrix exhibited characteristics of an ideal resorbable scaffold. At 12 weeks, DuraMatrix was partially resorbed. allowed ingrowth of cells, provided a scaffold for dura regeneration and resulted in complete or nearly complete repair of defects. Dura-Guard appeared grossly unchanged with little or no incorporation with native dura. DuraGen was completely resorbed by 12 weeks, leaving defects open and the cortex unprotected. DuraMatrix was the only dural substitute that provided a scaffold for dura regeneration, resulting in repair of dural defects.
