DEVELOP SCIENCE POPULARIZATION BY ASSOCIATION ACTIVELY TO ENHANCE THE PUBLIC'S LEVEL OF CORROSION SCIENCE

In last twenty years, science popularization committee under China Society for corrosion and protection has accomplished many projects for popularization of corrosion science, including organization and joining the national investigation of damage caused by corrosion three times, edition and publication of some corrosion and protection TV films, pictures and books; organization of two meetings to issue awards for popular scientific works(including acoustic and visual works), joining question setting for popular science knowledge competition organized by CCTV, publication of articles, editing special columns in many news papers and magazines, organization of summer camps of popular science and different symposiums of popular science, organization of picture exhibition, seminars and consultation on corrosion and protection during popular science weeks organized by state and Beijing local institutions. Through these colorful and different science popularization activities the level of corrosion science of public, in particular, of young people has been enhanced very much. The awareness of damage and loss caused by corrosion to human race has motivated people to study and spread the technique against corrosion with enhanced knowledge of corrosion science.
