摘要

The paper deals with the comparative evaluation of test methods for the resistance against tracking and erosion. The importance of test criteria of the available material tests is discussed. The standardized evaluation methodology of both, the Inclined-Plane-Test (IEC 60587) and the Arc-Test (ASTM D 495-99/IEC 61621) and additional criteria such like length of erosion, erosion depth and weight loss are discussed. Test results of an extra low viscosity liquid silicone rubber are compared to that of a highly filled silicone rubber. A comparative evaluation of test results from the Inclined-Plane-Test and the Arc-Test is given.
