This report describes results of continuously monitoring indoor air quality in 85 classrooms and other spaces located in eight schools in Minnesota (USA) during the 2003-2004 school year. Hourly, daily and weekly periodicities in values of temperature. relative humidity, and carbon dioxide concentrations that are expected were seen. Unusual events, both with and without the same regularity were also seen. Unusual values of carbon monoxide concentrations and volatile organic gas concentrations were investigated when observed. The schools that volunteered for the study represented school districts that have a high interest in IAQ issues in their buildings.Thus the sample is not a representative sample of all schools in the state. In spite of the bias toward better buildings as reflected in the interest shown in participating, significant problems with air quality were observed.Remediation efforts in the schools have begun and are reported in the paper.
