INDOOR AIR QUALITY OF PUBLIC TOILETS IN MALACCA

The research focused on Indoor Air Quality. The state of Malacca is the location of the study. Three districts namely Malacca Town Council, Alor Gajah District and Jasin District were selected for evaluation of Indoor Air Quality of public toilets. Several research methods using in this project. Questionnaire was distributed by the researcher and collected immediately to ensure often reliability. The data collected is temperature, relative humidity, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide concentration using the CAL-IAQ meter. The noise data were collected using noise level meter. The light intensity data were collected using a lux meter. All data was analyzing using SPSS version 1.15 and several statistical test including t-test and Anova to get the output. The result is not following the guidelines from ASHRAE. The temperature is not suitable for people comfortable. The findings were used formulated a set of public toilets guidelines to enable the local government and managements to gauge their indoor air quality and if necessary, upgrade their maintenance or undertake further remedial action.
