In the paper, we investigate the behaviour of SPLIT using layer subscription, with a view to illustrating the importance of priority RED queue using queue occupancy with video traffic and TCP traffic. We use layer subscription at the receiver and priority Queue occupancy at the Router with RED queue to analgize and observe the characteristics of SPLIT protocol with H.264 video, which is chosen to because of its 50% bit rate savings compare to MPEG-4. Our experiments show that not only can SPLIT co-exist with video traffic without degrading the video quality it is also easily scalable.
