Variation in nutrient content in sugarcane plant due to different planting geometries were found to be non significant during both the years. While, uptake of nutrients viz., N, P_2O_5 and K_2O by sugarcane crop during both the year were higher under 60-120-60 cm paired row planting (P_2). Nutrient status of soil after harvest were not alter significantly due to different planting geometries. The 90cm normal, 60-120-60 cm pair row and 120 cm twin row planting geometry were equally good for cane and equivalent yield of sugarcane. Higher nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content and their uptake by leaf blade, leaf sheath and stalk as well as total uptake by sugarcane crop were noted in all three weed management treatments than unweeded control. Available nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and organic carbon content (%) after harvest in soil were found highest under W_4 (Pendimethalin 1.0 kg/ha as pre-emergence + sunnhemp as green manure crop harvested and mulched at 60 DAS and incorporated at final earthing up) treatment during both the years. Application of pendimethalin 1.0 kg/ha as pre emergence coupled with gram intercrop proved to be the best weed management practices in sugarcane crop with higher cane yield closely followed by W2.
